What is a Virtual Dice Roller?

Physical tabletop gaming relies on polyhedral dice, but it's incredibly easy to lose them under the sofa. The FreeTools Virtual Dice Roller uses mathematically flawless pseudo-random number generation (PRNG) within JavaScript to perfectly emulate physical probability.

Understanding Polyhedral Dice

In games like Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) or Pathfinder, various weapons and spells require entirely different probability matrices.

  • D6 (Standard): Standard cube numbered 1 through 6. Used in Monopoly, Yahtzee, and standard risk probability.
  • D20 (Icosahedron): The core mechanic of tabletop roleplaying. Yields a 5% chance of rolling exactly a 20—frequently referred to as a "Critical Hit".
  • D100 (Percentile): Used for percentage rolls, generating numbers exactly matching the 1-to-100 decimal scale.

Absolute Randomness offline

Because the engine runs via the Math.random() API native to your browser, no data has to travel to a server. Hundreds of dice can be rolled instantly yielding true statistical distributions without latency spikes or internet requirements.
